Ruth Gorse Academy – Spaceshade Outdoor Dining Canopy

Posted by Admin

Ruth Gorse Academy in Leeds is an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' secondary school in Leeds, with 1,300 pupils on the roll.

The school was under pressure to accommodate rising pupil numbers and provide extra dining capacity for them. They needed a solution, fast.

The school worked with Kensington Systems and architects David Yeadon Ltd to install a Spaceshade® dining canopy with weatherproof retractable blinds on three sides.

The new canopy not only provides additional dining space but also creates a comfortable and versatile environment. The weatherproof blinds offer a practical solution to varying weather conditions, ensuring that students can enjoy their meals outdoors while staying protected from the elements.

With the ability to control the blinds through a remote control or app, the dining canopy offers convenience and ease of use. The clear vision panels incorporated into the blinds allow natural light to filter through, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere for students to dine in. And in good weather, the blinds can be raised out the way.

By investing in innovative solutions like the Spaceshade outdoor dining canopy, Ruth Gorse Academy has successfully expanded its dining capacity without the need for an expensive and time-consuming construction project.
