Replacement Playground Canopies at Norton Hill School, Somerset

Norton Hill Primary School in Midsomer Norton is a new 3-form entry primary school that opened in 2021. Part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, the new school with state-of-the-art facilities has grown steadily year on year and will accommodate 630 pupils by 2026.

As part of the initial build Kensington Systems installed several playground canopies to be used for outdoor learning and play. This year however, the school asked us back to make the existing canopies larger to provide more covered space.

Reusing part of the existing structures, we installed new rafters and roof sheets to make the projection of the canopies larger. This has given the school more protected outdoor learning space while avoiding waste and reducing costs. We also managed the groundworks, excavating new foundations and filling in the previous ones.
