Magna Carta Academy School Canopy Installation

Magna Carta Academy in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, had an existing playground shelter which had been installed at the time the school was built. However, it wasn’t big enough for their needs and didn’t provide adequate shelter from the weather.

The school is part of Burnt Mill Multi-Academy Trust, who approached us to install a new canopy alongside the existing to expand their covered outdoor play space. In addition the school wanted side walls installed to the new and original canopies to provide extra weather protection.

We installed a new Spaceshade Max canopy alongside the original canopy. Both the new and original canopies were also fitted with polycarbonate side walls, which are transparent but very robust. This solution has doubled the covered outdoor learning space the school has and enabled them to make better use of their playground.

The entire installation including the groundworks was completely project managed by Kensington Systems, minimising hassle for the school and trust.
