Kensington Systems Ltd worked with Rigg Construction and The Bush Consultancy to provide a Spaceshade Max lean-to canopy and Rolshade 430 roller blinds for the new extension at Ludgershall Castle Primary School.

The canopy we provided at Ludgershall is unique in that it uses two different materials for the roof sheets, a clever design feature suggested by the architect.

The opaque roof panels are composite aluminium sandwich panels, which provide sound reduction and extremely efficient solar shading. It prevents direct sunlight reaching the classrooms and reduces the school’s energy bills as a result. The clear sheets are multi-walled polycarbonate, which reflects heat but still allows the light in. This achieves the perfect balance of natural light levels and comfortable temperatures indoors.

This project is a great example of the versatility of the Spaceshade system; and shows how easy it is to customise the modular design to make it work for a specific requirement.
