This brand new postgraduate centre for Cardiff University Business School offers modern teaching space with modular offices that are flexible to the constantly changing requirements of a 21st century educational establishment. The 5,200m2 contemporary building allows innovative education through its collection of common rooms, lecture theatres, teaching spaces, and trading room, all attached to a 2 storey entrance concourse.
Kensington worked with ISG construction to come up with a shading solution for the new Cardiff Business School (CarBS) building. This iconic building was designed by Boyes Rees Architects to achieve a BREEAM excellent specification and was also Shortlisted for Design through the Innovation category at the RICS Wales Awards 2015. The building also received a Constructing Excellence in Wales Health and Safety Award 2015. The Rolshade 430 roller blinds provided by Kensington systems Ltd have helped achieve this design standard. They also provide flexible shading thanks to the 3% shading material used, which offers great outward visibility for the students whilst reducing solar gain and glare within the rooms.
